The 1920's-inspired Baltimore Dress by Decades of Style is a stunning sleeveless frock with a subtly flared front skirt panel. While its loose fit and straight seams at the side maintain the classic 20's style, the intriguing fabric blocking of the criss-crossed front accentuates art deco design lines and creates an optical illusion of a shaped silhouette. The examples show a two-color version, but you could use as many different fabrics as you like -- try color blocking with solid colors, have fun different pairing prints, or play around with stripe and pattern direction!

Due to the loose fit and amount of ease in this dress, lighter-weight fabrics (such as silk, rayon, or voile) are recommended; medium-weight fabrics such as cotton can be used but will have a stiffer drape, especially in the front skirt panel. Recommended fabrics include lightweight linen, lightweight shirting, tropical weight wool, crepe, satin and sateen, rayon, double gauze, crêpe de Chine, and silk velvet.
