Decades Of Style 1930's Beach Romper #3013

I would consider myself an advanced beginner sewist, and I made this romper last weekend out of a seersucker stripe. The finished product is absolutely adorable. I made the choice to make the straps from the same fabric, rather than using ribbon as recommended by the pattern, and while the additional folding and pressing of the fabric strips added a lot of time, it turned out great, and I am glad I did it. The pattern could have used A LOT more instruction regarding how to actually construct the garment; maybe it's due to my relative inexperience, but for the cost of this pattern, I would expect a little more info about how the insets are supposed to lie on the finished garment, are they to be ironed inward, topstitched in place, etc. Also, the gussets; I needed a bit more construction guidance than "attach gussets at markings". If you're familiar with constructing this sort of garment, you will probably be fine with the level of instruction given, but for anyone at my advanced beginner level, be aware that the diagrams are not particularly helpful, and the instructions are minimal, so you might have to wing it.
