Inspired by the elegant and simple styles of the 1940s, this easy one-arm wrap shawl is a breeze to make, allowing you to sew up a beautiful wrap in an hour or less. The relatively simple construction makes it a great beginner’s project as well as a quick sew for more experienced sewers. This wrap can be made for winter with heavier-weight warm fabrics or is perfect for summer evenings made from lightweight material with good drape. The pattern lends itself well to embellishments from embroidery to applique to edgings, and looks perfect paired with a vintage (or otherwise) brooch.

The Sunset Wrap can be made for any season with fabrics with a variety of textures and weights. Fabrics that drape well, such as cotton gauze, rayon, silk chiffon, charmeuse, and soft cotton twill are recommended. Heavier weight fabrics that drape well, like wool crepe, are also appropriate. Note that the back side of the fabric can be seen.
