The Kendrick Overalls are a casual 4-in-1 combo with a wide variety of outfit potential. View A is the cropped wide leg pant: the flattering high rise fits to the hips then falls straight down, balanced by a wider hem and cropped ankle length for a fun and stylish silhouette. View B is a fitted pencil-style skirt meant to hit right at the kneecap, with a shorten/lengthen line so you can adjust it to fit you to your preference; it features a chunky hem depth and a cute front slit detail that adds visual interest and provides walking ease. Extra room at the hip for sitting is balanced with a narrower hem to really show off those feminine lines. Both pants and skirts views can be made with or without V-neck straps for an overalls option. The straps are drafted just like a bodice to help them conform to the body and lie flat against the chest, which may require fitting. The straps secure with a belt-style slider, and you can adjust the length as desired. With or without straps, the functional zipped fly is a comfy and convenient touch. Recommended Fabrics:
Primarily non-stretch mid to heavyweight fabric, such as twill, denim, and corduroy, but you can use stretch fabric with simple adjustments for an extra-comfy design. You may need to take the pattern pieces in by using slightly bigger seam allowances at the back center seam, outseams, and side seams of the waistband, reducing the ease porportional to the fabric's added stretch. This is also handy for using your previously cut pattern pieces to sew with different fabrics: heavier non-stretch fabrics can be let out and thinner stretch fabrics can be taken in, all without making any changes to the actual pattern pieces.
