Megan Nielsen Dove Blouse

Inspired by amazing 70's statement sleeves, Megan was looking to create a pattern with enough special details that it still looks gorgeous without the cuffs: her three fabulous versions of the Dove blouse provide a spectrum of styles to choose from! Version 3 is the main attraction, with bold, bohemian-inspired bell sleeves. Version 2 features a more subtle flared sleeve that's perfect for adding fun flair to a more streamlined silhouette. Finally, the sweet-and-simple Version 1 is an elegant blouse with tidy elbow length sleeves, bringing focus to the chic hemline, neckline, and dart details! All versions share a V-neckline and curved hem that are finished with beautiful couture facings. The loose-fitting silhouette is subtly shaped by french darts on the front bodice, while the split hem dips down in the back, mirroring the swoopy shape of the sleeve. We’re looking forward to sewing up a groovy floral Version 2, a lengthened, tunic-y Version 1, and a foxy lace Version 3 a-la Stevie Nicks!

Recommended Fabrics:
Designed for all manner of light- to medium-weight shirting fabrics (including, lawn, voile, crepe de chine, chambray, linen, rayon and more!), the Dove blouse creates a different look based on the fabric you use. Stiffer fabric like linen will give your blouse more structure, while a drapier fabric such as crepe de chine will result in a flowy blouse. Your fabric choice can take it from a casual weekend vibe to a professional, office-ready garment or a dressy piece for classy dinners out with your love!
