We all have a favorite t-shirt that we simply love but just don’t wear anymore, and it is taking up valuable drawer space. Immortalize it - turn it into a tote bag! The directions are for an average size adult shirt, but you can adapt to make any size bag! Fun and easy! Learn how to make a welt pocket, button tabs, a boxed out bottom and - it is lined - with an inside pocket! Wow! But, the ‘crem de la crem’ is - that tassel! Learn how to make a tassel using the left over t-shirt. Be careful, these are addicting! You might find yourself buying vintage shirts just to make a bag!
Fabric Requirements:
- 1 Prewashed T-shirt
- 1 yard fabric (cotton, poplin, lawn, linen, etc) for the lining, backing, handles and pockets
- 1 yard fusible interfacing such as Shape flex 101
- ~20" x 44" foam stabilizer
- 1 x 1" D-ring
- 2 x buttons
- 1/2" tassel cap (optional)
