Tilly and the Buttons Cleo Dungaree Dress

One of Tilly’s most popular patterns, Cleo is easy to make and super comfortable to wear. Short or long, cozy and layered or light-weight and lovely, this pattern is a pleasure to wear year-round: layer Cleo over a snuggly sweater or turtleneck and knitted tights when it’s cold, or over a Breton top or t-shirt when it’s warm. You can make it dungaree-style with buckles, or as a pinafore with button fastenings. Choose from mini-length or knee-length, with an optional center-front split and a selection of patch pocket options. Because they have few style lines interrupting the fabric, pinafores are one of those oh-so-customizable garments that make a perfect "blank canvas" for adding your own design flourish: try color blocking the panels with different denims or adding embroidery to the pockets! A flattering silhouette on many different shapes, once you try it, you'll wonder how you lived without a dungaree dress.

Recommended Fabrics: Heavy or medium weight woven fabrics that hold their shape, such as denim, corduroy, cotton drill, gabardine, canvas, and wool.
